The Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) and polyester polyol investments implemented last year under BYCHEM stand out as the largest in the region and represent Türkiye’s first domestic and national production in this field. The new facility targets an annual TPU production capacity of 50,000 tons. With this investment, the aim is to reduce the current account deficit in the domestic market for high value-added products, enhance competitiveness, and increase global exports, particularly to Europe and the United States. Applications for different industries Next-generation TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) products offer high-performance, value-added solutions across a wide range of fields, including automotive, textiles, medical and electrical-electronics, as well as industrial applications, composite solutions, defense industry, sports equipment, and cable technologies. TPU is positioned as a “material of the future” in many industries. 

BYFLEXX®TPU: Next-Generation Product Solutions At the modern BYCHEM production facility, which has 35,000 square meters of enclosed area and can expand up to 55,000 square meters, the product portfolio of the BYFLEXX® TPU brand—developed entirely with domestic engineering expertise-demonstrates the strength of Turkish industry. The products stand out in particular for their high durability, flexibility, and 100% recyclable structure.

BYFLEXX® TPU products are flexible, high-strength, and aromatic in structure, covering all types based on polyester, polyether, polycaprolactone, and polycarbonate. The production process, which begins with the manufacture of all aromatic TPU grades, will continue in the next phase with the production of aliphatic TPU grades. In addition, TPU composites and compound products with other polymers will also be included in the portfolio.

  Special adhesive groups for furniture and hygiene applications have also been launched BYCHEM’s investment plans are not limited to TPU alone. Special adhesive groups have also begun to be commissioned on the company’s new production line. Following positive results from trial batches, the first samples have been delivered to customers. These special adhesive groups will be used primarily in furniture and hygiene applications.

  Türkiye’s first reactive extrusion pilot production line At the heart of BYCHEM’s innovation capability lies its 3,300-square-meter R&D center. The testing and analysis infrastructure established within the R&D center is designed to directly serve a wide range of the polymer industry. The most significant strength of the R&D center is Türkiye’s first reactive extrusion pilot production line. With a capacity of 50 kilograms per hour, pilot-scale TPU synthesis can be carried out. Thanks to precise production, rapid trials can be conducted efficiently without consuming tons of material, enabling much faster and more effective results.

  Focusing on TPU and niche products in 2026 By strengthening its R&D capabilities and application-driven engineering approach, BYCHEM will focus on TPU formulations and niche products tailored to the specific needs of different industries. The company will develop TPU solutions that have passed OEM approval processes, comply with regulations, offer high tolerance in production processes, and have proven performance under real usage conditions. By working closely with its customers from the early stages, the company aims to offer an end-to-end collaboration model covering product design, prototyping, testing and scaling processes, and mass production. This approach will enable BYCHEM to establish long-term and sustainable partnerships while also helping customers bring their products to market faster and with greater confidence.
